"Il cibo Italiano" literally translates to "the Italian food". Italians love food, and it is embedded in their culture. Meats and cheeses are in almost every dish. I ate a ton of pasta throughout these four months. I also love Italian paninis and sandwiches. When in Florence, it is absolutely necessary to try All'antico Vinaio. It is a very famous panini shop. People wait in long lines to try them. I have ordered La Summer and La Joe Bastianich sandwiches, and they are my favorites. Both sandwiches have a meat, cheese, tomatoes and greens. La Summer has prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. The Joe Bastianich has pancetta, homemade pecorino cream, dried tomatoes, and arugula. The workers make your sandwich right in front of you. It may not be noticeable in the picture, but the sandwiches are huge. I always have to save some for later on. Pictured below are some other delicious meals I have had while abroad in Florence.
